Shrewsbury’s first doctor, Dr. Joshua Smith, has died at the age of 37. Dr. Edward Flint has come to assume his practice. In two years he will serve for a short time as Chief Surgeon in an expedition during the French and Indian War, and in 1775 as a surgeon in the American Revolution. His house will later be moved to 449 West Main St.
